I baked breads before but never from my own sourdough starter. Finally I tried to grow it and it went ok, I think. But this is so addictive!
I baked 8 breads over weekend to try different options and different flours. Be aware- there will be more coming!
This one was one of my favourite. It is similar to San Francisco Sourdough. Additionally I decorated it with basil leaves.

I watch the lockdown with amusement and my preparation for it equals zero.
I am always prepared for lockdown ( and who read Life of Pi knows what I mean). This type of survival has grown in my genes from war generations in my family.

All my childhood I spent living in communist Poland and I queued to shops almost everyday, often returning with nothing as nothing was available. Living in such a political background and coming from unprivileged family I grew up without all these things from shops and in restricted freedom. I never had holiday abroad or any holiday really. I boarded the plane for the very first when I was 25 to fly to London. I will never return to Poland.

Of course this is not an identical situation but still so many people have no understanding that this is done to protect you not to suppress you.

I am almost paralysed by this fact and ideally I would snuggle somewhere what would be a combination of bookshop/hairdressers/perfumery, with big coffee and relaxing ambiance music.... but that is not going to happen. I am in London with no plans...

As some of you may know already, three weeks ago I have moved to Uk. It has been very busy time settling down etc but I am very happy with the place and new jobs. Also very happy to be near by close friends who live in neighbourhood. ———————————————
I have to say, I absolutely love the diversity in UK and see it as the greater of this country strengths. ———————————————-
Amersham, our new home, it is a market town in chalk hill range, conserved as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You may know it, even if you live outside of Uk, as it was a background to several films and series including “Four Weddings and Funeral”. It is also a last station of Metropolitan Underground Station.
Basically it is English Tuscany next to London. ❤️🇬🇧

Eating in Paris. ————————-———————————Ironically it is quite difficult to find a really good food in Paris. My advice : avoid Cafes and Brasseries in popular ares. So far I found best French AND affordable restaurants near Opera Bastille ( 11th ARR). eg. Chez Paul which serves classical french food in the same form continuously since 40‘s. The whole experience was exceptional!
